Hi all,

I have recently carried out a Server 2003 R2 enterprise build, At first everything was going great, however for some reason it has lost it's internet connection, but this only seems to have happened since i have activeated the DHCP server role, prior to that it was working fine.

We have a very unique site detachced from our main site and the internet connection comes down ADSL (at the moment) through one PC and then it did go across the LAN to the server (previous network managers work, not mine!)

There was a floppy configured from what loooks like to be the win XP network wizard whch worked fine prior to the server being part of a domain, however now it is a domain controller, obviously the server 2003 ebviroment wont allow me to use the XP config floppy disc to configure it's internet connection etc, without demoting it which i cannot do as i only have one server at this site, or worse still, re-building it, which i am not really in favor of doing! :(

I have some experiencing with the server2003 enviroment, however some what of a novice when it comes to re-building them, but.....i do like a challenge!

Does the server get the correct IP addresses from the DHCP?

Z

This is finally sorted, i figured as i ot no replies early on no one was watching the topic, it would appear to have been a conflict of DHCP scopes as well as trusts between the two sites etc.

Thanks anyway for your input.
