Log-in offline (behind proxy)

Hi All,

 

Been handed a windows 8 laptop by a uni student on work experience here.

 

First time I've seen one really, but I can't log him on. Says PC is 'offline' and yet I can connect to the wi-fi.

 

I'm guessing it's because I haven't entered proxy details, but can't seem to find a way to do that unless I log-in to the laptop?

 

Any ideas how to get round this. Doesn't seem to have another account on there or Administrator account.

 

Seems a bit contrary to me.... Surely you don't have to be 'online' to sign-in to a Windows 8 laptop???

Unless it's changed if it's been logged in with a linked Microsoft account it needs internet access unless there's local account setup. (Thought they were putting caching on but maybe not?)
