RabbieBurns Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 We have had a request to change the way that Moodle sends out notifcaitons of forum posts to subscribed users and Im not sure if it is possible. We have set it so the notifications come from [email protected] but the display name of the email is still showing the name of the user who made the post. This is causing confusion to teachers who think the users are emailing them directly. Is there any way to change the default behaviour of the email notifications such that the display name can be somehting generic also, such as Moodle Notification or something?
mrverrall Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Hi RabbieBurn, I've just cleared out some prior responses to keep things neat and clear here. What you ask id entirely possible. All you need to do is *uncheck* the following option, Site administration / Plugins / Activity modules / Forum / Use email address in reply The confusion (for me too) comes when this is checked so as to use users real email addresses, but is then overridden by a users preference to keep their email address private at user level. Cheers, Paul
