steven_layton_sl Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I'd like to create a new separate network for our ChromeBooks. The College uses a combination of Smoothwall and Meraki for our Wi-Fi and Internet. I have already started VLANing the switches, creating a new VLAN666 for the ChromeBooks. (The VLAN tag might give you some idea of my current thoughts on them!). With the Meraki Wi-Fi I am able to map a specific VLAN to a specific SSID, which I have done. I now need to turn my attention to Smoothwall. I have identified a spare port on the Smoohtwall box, and connected a VLANed port from our core switch to it. I'd like Smoothwall to issue IPs via DHCP in a very similar way to how our BYOD network (on VLAN13) works. Not having done this before, what are the steps I'd need to set up the Smoothwall Interface (NIC) asnd DHCP? What else would I need to set up? What order do I do things in?
timbo343 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 @steven_layton_sl Ive attached a document which might help you - although it is labelled setting upi BYOD with ruckus the smoothwall part about DHCP should be the same (though the links might wrong - the document is a few years old) but should give you an idea.Setting up BYOD with Ruckus.docx
