DNS ip addresses not released and Unifi dhcp ip address advice

Hi

 

I'm seeing stale addresses in DNS - several addresses look like they haven't been released. Nothing seems to actually be broken, as all devices seem to be able to log on, but I'm getting DCOM errors (DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer x.x.x.x using any of the configured protocols). I'm thinking of turning on DNS scavenging, but reading about that at the minute - seems like a sensible idea, but also could potentially cause a catastrophic failure of AD from what I've read so far! Is it worth clearing all leases overnight when there are no clients connected to start with a clean sheet? And is there something similar I can run for DNS to clear history - or is DNS scavenging the only option?

 

Most of the addresses reporting problems are ones that either are or have been allocated to my Unifi APs. These are configured just to use DHCP as that was the advice I found when setting them up. Would I be better configuring them with static IPs?
