Success migrating Logo Electro (etc) from server 2003

Hi everyone.

 

There's been a number of discussions on here about support for 2003 ending but needing to keep a server for Logo/Expo Electro etc.

 

Well I think I've successfully migrated our copy of Logo and Expo from 2003 with the default MSDE SQL database, onto 2008 R2 with an SQL 2008 R2 database.

 

Before I publish the notes publically, I'd like someone who's in the same boat to have a go with them - any volunteers?

If you have managed to make this work I'd certainly be interested in seeing the notes. We've just migrated our school fileserver from MS Server 2003 to 2012 R2, which has killed a few of our older applications (including Log and Expo).

 

The staff are likely to move on to newer applications, but with the usual budgetary constraints this may take a while. It would be great if I could get something together during the summer holidays so they can continue using the software until they are able to get a suitable replacement sorted.

My teachers found a problem after we came back which means I've not been 100% successful, but I'm sure the bit that isn't working is resolvable, I just haven't had time during term-time to fix it.

 

Three of us might also get to the fix quicker by combining experience as well.

 

Edit: Well I would if I could find where on earth I saved it - I'll come back to you tomorrow!
