Hi All,

I am new to system backups as these have been managed by others in my previous jobs, however, I am looking for people's opinions on systems backups which have been configured to see if you think the measures which we have in place are adequate enough. At present, we have 3 different backup jobs which are as follows:

File Storage Backup

- Runs incremental backups daily and then completes a full backup at the end of each week and month and backs up our SAN and the local drives on all of our servers.

SQL Backup

- Runs daily and backups up all of our SQL DBs on our 3 SQL Servers.

Server System States

- Runs weekly and backs up all of the system states on all of our physical and virtual servers.

Do you think this is sufficent?

The one I am most concerned about is the System States one, is it worth backing this up on a daily basis?

Thanks for your help in advanced!

We have almost the same setup with you with the File Storage, SQL Backups and System States. Had ours like this for about 3 years now without any issues. Recently added another backup midday at lunch time as found out students done work in morning, then overwrote/deleted and we could not get back.
