abillybob Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Hey Guys So I have setup a shared area on Windows Server Manager (Which was a folder already created in Windows Server 2008 R2) there are sub-folders and files inside the folder I'm trying to share. I went through the wizard and came to the screen to set permissions so I set Permissions and set the Permissions on the Share tab to the following: Administrators, Full Control, Applies to; This folder, subfolders and files Staff Security Group, Read & Execute, Applies to; This folder, subfolder and files SYSTEM, Full Control, Applies to; This folder, subfolder and files The same is set under the "Share" tab. I have also ticked the box saying "Replace all child permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object" but when I hit apply it gives me the following error "An error occurred when Applying Security information to: Failed to emulate objects in the container. Access is denied". I have checked and it would seem that Administrator is the Owner of all files and folders but when looking at the security information on sub files and folders there isn't any at all. I must be doing something wrong but this is all really confusing me! Thanks in advance
