AQA Training - Remote Access

Hi everyone,

 

I have a few teachers that have now requested to do AQA training but LGfL blocks access to the site needed and classifies it as 'remote access tools'

 

It's understandable as they are using Adobe Connect but I just wanted to know if anyone has also experienced this and if you have any advice.

 

Atomwide will just dismiss it, I'm sure and I could bypass it but this is not something I want to show staff how to do...

We just went through this ourselves, LGFL now allows this, contact LGFL for the steps required.

The Remote Access service to which you have referred is designated as a 'Category 2' site under current policies and is therefore not accessible within the LGfL 2.0 network unless your establishment explicitly opts in to services in that category, via the process described in the above document.

 

Remote Access services designated as 'Category 1' sites, and thus always permitted on the LGfL 2.0 network, are listed in the above document. We strongly recommend that you consider using one of these alternatives before choosing to allow access to 'Category 2' sites, which are deemed far less secure.

 

I was really hoping I didn't have to go that route and may just ask teachers to take courses at home.

 

I don't want a less secure network if I can avoid it.
