Non Admin and UAC

I'm having a bit of a brain freeze and I'm trying to do the following.

 

We have Veeam installed and I want to give access to other members of staff as I can set their access through Veeam to be Backup Operator/Viewer so long as they are not admins(which is what I want). However, in order to run the software I get a UAC prompt which is asking for a local admin username & password. Which means that the user will need to run it as an admin user which kind of defeats the object of setting user roles. How do I get it so I can exclude Veeam for prompting for UAC?

 

As far as I can see the setting for User Account Control: Behaviour of the elevation prompt for standard users: is set for - Prompt for credentials.

 

What I want is another user to be given remote access to the server and then limited access to Veeam. But I can't see what settings I need to change.

 

All I want to do is provide access for someone else to check on jobs when I'm not here but without being able to make any changes. I know I must be pretty simpler, but I've got a bad head from being ill all weekend and my thinking process has basically stopped:(

The Veeam client executable (Veeam.Backup.Shell.exe) is marked to run as admin via it's manifest file. I imagine this is for good reason and it won't work without admin credentials. Do you happen to have "Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager"? This is a web based console for Veeam that would let one view the status of jobs, and should respect the permissions you have set.

Thanks, should have read that. Although I probably did but didn't pay attention:)

 

We do have that but I wanted to give another user access to the server and use the local Veeam software at the same time. Not to worry, I'll look into using the web interface instead.
