emeyeraway Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Using ScratchGPIO6 (or 6plus, 7, or 7plus) ANY sound command I insert into a Sprite causes the screen to jump to the picture of the large red raspberry as soon as it "sees" the command. It will also jump there if I just click on any sound command. I use the audio output to my stereo speakers (through a sound mixer) because I can't get the HDMI cable (connected to the TV) to produce any sound, even after using raspi-config to tell it to. When I use Scratch 1.4, there is no problem with sound commands; they work fine, so the crash problem is peculiar to the GPIO versions of Scratch. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm a rank beginner, having discovered RasPi only weeks ago. Ed Meyer Sarasota, FL
Steve21 Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Don't know if you've tried it yet, but I think that was originally an Issue with Raspbian more than Scratch https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=18684 unless this is a new bug Seems updating the firmware/kernels fixes it. Steve
emeyeraway Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 That didn't do the trick for me, but at this point my problem has been solved. Thanks for your interest.
LosOjos Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Tagging @SimpleSi in as he's the developer I believe, sure he'd be interested in this
emeyeraway Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 No need. He's the one who solved the problem for me!!
ALaskaRasPi Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Any chance we could get your fix action? Thanks
emeyeraway Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Sure! Here it is: To use sound with ScratchGPIO, you currently need to run the "old" version of Scratch Load ScratchGPIO Once loaded - close it, Run LX Terminal type /usr/bin/scratch.old When Scratch re-opens File Open and select rsc Thank Simon Walters
