Computer screen went blank and all work has lost.

Hi,

 

While I was working on a document suddenly computer screen went blank. Than only one sec later came back and I lost my all typings I did so far. It was Word document and I cant recover it. Any body knows what migh caused this problem? By the way computer didnt rebooted, machine was working.

Can't be sure, but this does nicely lead on to the teaching of save your work regularly so you don't loose too much if the worst happens!

I know that "never trust machine". But my question was whether any of you have an idea what causes this problem.

could have been a mini power surge?

Some sort of hardware/software/driver failure that the machine auto-recovered from, but had to shut down the apps?

The machine was on and hasnt shut down. This makes it strange. At the moment I m not interested in to recover data. I am trying to find reason caused this problem. COMPUTER WAS ON.

As for the recovery of the document I have found in the directory where the file was check to see if there is a .files in and open them up in Word you might be lucky and find it

 

As for the Blank screen

 

Check the event log on the machine

Thanks for your reply mrtechsystems. I tried to recover file from temp directory. But wasnt succeed. Nevermind. I have checked Event log and found only one warning : MRxSmb. I dont thint that is relavant.
