Personal Folders Link

Hello,

Does anyone know a way of showing the username on the start menu but NOT being able to click it?

 

We don't want people clicking into their local personal folder, but we obviously want to know who is logged in quickly by looking at the start menu.

 

Any ideas?

I don't think there is a way of doing this, we are using bginfo, this displays information on the background, we display the username, computer name and some of the computer specs. It looks really good and it's customisable. take a look.

Suppose it's one way, just doesn't feel as nice as seeing their name in the start menu.

Wish Microsoft would just think...

we've got their names showing but it links to their home folder. BGINFO is pretty good and looks really professional. it also helps when staff come to log issues as they know the computer name.
