mike_ash Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can help, we have a suite of macs used in our music department, the teacher would like to be able to show a pupils work on the projector. We have impero on our windows machines which I could install on the macs and would have been ideal but unfortunately it support sound. So does anyone use any software that can do this? I've had a quick look on the internet and found airparrot (AirParrot 2 | Mirror & stream content from your Mac, PC or Chromebook to Apple TV, Chromecast & more.), has anyone got experience of this or are there any alternatives I should look at, free or paid for thanks, Mike
plexer Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Airserver seems to be the one a lot of people are using. Ben
mike_ash Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Anyone got experience of airserver? and will it meet the requirements as it looks like it's aimed at ipads. I should have said that that the software needs to work over a wired network as it's not an option to use the wireless thank, Mike
tmoon-mint Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Air-Server is essentially an Airplay receiver for Windows, so it would work exactly the same on a Mac as on an iOS device. Air-Server will definitely do what you need it to.
mike_ash Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Just if anyone else has the same requirements I had, it can be achieved using screen share and a piece of freeware called Soundfly so no need to purchase any software. As it happens I've used Impero and Soundfly as we already had enough licenses to put impero on the macs and it's got other useful tools over just using screen share Mike
