Hi there

Sometimes when we try to image a pc with system centre it 'Fails to run the task sequence'. Normally it's because we have already imaged the pc and the client is still left on there.

You can go into the logs and look at the computer Netbios name/delete it in System Centre - is there a way does anyone know of just being able to override this? It's a bit of a faff sometimes but not a big thing.

Thanks

Are you advertising your reimage task sequence to only the "Unknown Computers" collection? If so, if SCCM has an agent that has previously connected from the computer, it will give you an error message about no task sequences available when you start OSD. If you advertise your task sequence ("Available" deployment type - never "required") to a collection that contains the computer, you should be able to reimage it without having to delete the computer from the SCCM database each time.

You can then either leave the PC in the collection after imaging or use a script to programmatically delete it from the collection once imaging is complete.
