Hi,

I would like to know if anyone here have be able to get a working SYSPREP image of Windows 8.1 with the drivers locally stored in a folder like "C:\Drivers" ?

I am using Novell Zenworks to deploy OS images to our workstations ( It was working fine with Windows 7 SYSPREP ) but the drivers installation part with Windows 8.1 does not work any more.

Modifying the DevicePath values in the registry do not seem to work ...

"C:\Drivers;%SystemRoot%\inf"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DevicePath]

Using the unattend.xml file to specify a folder containing the drivers don't work either...

                   C:\Drivers\

So do anyone here have been able to create a standalone Windows 8.1 image without relying on external sources like MDT WDS or SCCM ?

Thank you ! :)

Have you tried it with that exact line?

As "C:\Drivers;%SystemRoot%\inf" wouldn't be right, it'd be C:\Drivers (I think anyway)

Also if you're doing it the offline servicing way, I'd take off the last \ on the Path, and use a standard KeyValue e.g. 1 not 76244e4a.

Thank you Steve,

I already tried with no \ at the end of the path without success and also with a key of 1. This key(76244e4a) was generated with the WSIM and the creation of a deployment share ( also another unsuccessful attempt )

Just letting you know guys that someone helped me on another forum to get the drivers to install. Here's the answer, if it can help others :

DpInst Method

Basically using the DPInst.exe (provided in the Windows Drivers Kit )and DPInst.xml file i was able to call DPInst within the Specialize phase asking it to install all drivers from a specified drivers folder ex. C:\Drivers
