Data Manager - MIS / SIMS (Birmingham)

£25,400 - £32,000 (depending on experience) plus benefits

Permanent 36 ½ hour week

 

Our client, a large secondary school in Birmingham requires an enthusiastic and committed Data Manager to oversee and develop the school’s use of data for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and teaching staff. With key responsibility for setting up and maintaining numerous complex data systems, the Data Manager must be able to establish and implement processes to support data validation and verification coupled with the ability to report to audiences of varying needs.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have detailed knowledge and experience using Excel, Access & SIMS and will be able to create strategic and operational data including the production of clear, concise and accurate information to support the SLT in raising standards of performance, within the school.

 

It is imperative that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are able to make decisions using your own initiative, work well under pressure and can prioritise workloads.

 

Your other duties will include :

 

• Being the key user of the school’s MIS (SIMS) and Data Manager for the staff.
  
• Working closely with the ICT Manager to ensure the MIS integrates fully with the ICT network and VLE.
  
• Ensuring that third party systems used by the school, such as the library database and behaviour tracking system, seamlessly integrate with the MIS.
  
• Supporting the Exams Officer with the preparation of internal examinations and checking all external examination entries.
  
• Overseeing the Assessment and Reporting, Staffing, Statutory Returns and Timetable, Sleuth and FAC +
