pperic Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Hello, I have a problem with connecting to students. I've installed NSS in all computers in the classroom, but it doesn't show all students when I refresh the view. Every time, 3 or 4 PC's are not shown, when students are normally logged in as simple users. When I turn on all PC's in the classroom, and when students are not logged in, the program works fine and I can see all PC's. After I refresh the view, they are gone. I have tried to reinstall NSS Student version on those PC's that are not shown, but it's still not working. I have also tried to log in students as an administrator, but it didn't help. On this picture, when I double-click on the student that is not shown, it says the #1704 error. In configuration settings, I have putted that it's searching by IP range (IP is static in whole classroom) and Browse mode is U21 (Browse and connect students starting with : U21). Any ideas? http://i60.tinypic.com/10o4du0.png Thanks in advance.
minimoo Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 First off, are you under active support ? 11.41.00018 or something is latest version of netsupport school - and was released a few days ago. The support guys are normally fairly good - but i'd check the obvious things i.e. if you do a dns + reverse dns lookup of the name, there's no old entries etc. We've found issues if you load/run netsupport during the logon process i.e. before the desktop is displayed but that's more been on losing the "lock" screen on the student client - i.e. teacher locks screen before desktop is spawned during logon, you can end up with a locked keyboard/mouse, but not the netsupport padlock if you time it right. Having gone around various options over the last few years to fix random edge cases we occasionally hit, I've eventually settled on running the connectivity server on a server, setting up the tutors and clients to join a room name so there's no browsing (which speeds up the initial connection a bit). If you right click on one of the offline pc's does netsupport show the correct name/ip/macaddress for the pc in question? On the student client, is the client32.exe process still running ? (there should be 2 of them when a user is logged in)

pperic Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Yup, 2 client32.exe process are running and name/ip/macadress are correct on the offline PC's, but they are still offline.
