On my windows 8.1 pcs users (staff who have local admin rights) cant install updates they can get to the control panel section but it just says "some settings are managed by your system administrator" and if i click check for updates i get windows update cant check for updates because settings on this pc are controlled by your system administrator.

 

My gpo is set so that it should allow them to see updates as far as i can see (and it does alow update and restart)

any ideas as it annoying me as i cant see why its not working

sorted turns out I had a start menu policy blocking access to windows update. id not noticed it by focusing in on automatic update settings doh!
