Hi all, I've had a mosey about but can't find a solution to this puzzle. The Capita man said it was doable, but difficult...

I want to produce a report for each form tutor in the school. The report is to contain students in rank order of attendance in one column and rank order of conduct in a second.

Obviously a new page for each form tutor. (Data on show is Name/Conduct and in another column Name/Attendance).

I've tried various permutations of an RTF form and mail merges but my knowhow is a bit limited and I can't make it work.

Any thoughts?

It might be worth sharing the report, or detailing how you've set it up.

How are you obtaining attendance and conduct info, through the red subreport button when you select fields? In the bottom part of the screen, there is the option to define the sort order.

I'm not sure this would work when you have multiple sub-reports because the data is brought back as one block, so you might get the data ordered by attendance then by conduct.

One way to make it work is to use separate sub reports, so create a separate top level report for attendance data and another for conduct. Then in the main display report, call these reports and they will be pulled in, inline, and should be ordered separately. I don't know if it would work like that for the data you want, but i've done it for contact information.

I had a report on students, that had sub-reports for parent emails and parent telephone numbers. These were separate, filtered, and ordered then pulled in.

I've requested it to be available on the file resources on Capita's MAcc but can email if you think it will help. pm me.
