Little-Miss Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 @Little-Miss = Esk? (Reasoning.. Esk is a Wizard (of sorts) Wizards can see Octarine Octarine is described as being related to the colour PURPLE! ) I....I...have to confess something....I've never read any of the Discworld series *hangs head in shame, clings on to geek card* (but i'd recently planned to if it that helps. Especially the Death novels) So, to Google i went... She's from a village called Bad Ass apparently. First female wizard. Purple....i have no issue with this. There's also a t-shirt that says "I love octarine" which makes me feel really sad that i've never read them. *hides*

GrumbleDook Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 @Little-Miss = Esk? I have visions of her being Cheery ... nice, polite, good to work with ... but if she starts getting angry and reaches for an axe ... then run!!!! 1
GrumbleDook Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Cheery Littlebottom - Discworld & Terry Pratchett Wiki ... without the beard though ... definitely without the beard ... Put the axe down ... please! 1
clareq Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 A very good librarian (human not simian) recognised my son's love of reading and suggested he borrow Soul Music from the adult section when he was about 8. After hearing him giggling I read it too, so did his sister and dad, and the whole family were hooked. My daughter met her husband at a discworld mud meet.

Was just about to say - Not sure @Little-Miss would be too happy with a lot of facial hair

ICTDirect_Dave Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 So who fits Corporal Nobby Nobbs and Sgt Fred Colon then?
Popular Post sonofsanta Posted March 19, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2015 I think more than a few of uth might be good Igorth ath well. We prefer the darkneth and tholitude of the bathement, are often judged unfairly by our unique appearantheth, but give uth an hour, a box of wireth, a dead frog and a lightning conductor, and we can fixth jutht about anything... 5
GrumbleDook Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) I think of @GrumbleDook more as Vimes to be honest! Good at balancing everything but happy to give a good snipe at those who don't really deserve respect at times, but appearing completely innocent when he does it. Really? [with innocent look] ;-) (just practising for when I do need it!) Edited March 19, 2015 by GrumbleDook
GrumbleDook Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I always thought of @GrumbleDook as William De Worde: William de Worde - Discworld & Terry Pratchett Wiki I was thinking of him for @russdev actually
Andrew_C Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Ooook? I also started with Soul Music (I think) many years ago. Recently started at Colour Of Magic, and read them all again, in order.
Gatt Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 So who fits Corporal Nobby Nobbs and Sgt Fred Colon then? @Domino for Nobby? 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 @Domino for Nobby? Yup, he's got the perpetual cigarette with that vape thingy he uses and I know of nobody better at getting all the good loots from exhibitions!
GrumbleDook Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) Yup, he's got the perpetual cigarette with that vape thingy he uses and I know of nobody better at getting all the good loots from exhibitions! Ah ... but @Domino knows how to use soap! .... ... .. . Not saying he actually does use it, but he knows *how* to ... so not sure if that one works. /runs away from @Domino very fast ... or at least limps relatively quickly! Edited March 19, 2015 by GrumbleDook
ICTDirect_Dave Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I think we'd best leave out soap use as a condition of being nobby nobbs lest we end up offending a whole bunch of people who may or may not actually smell!
Popular Post Domino Posted March 19, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2015 Hey! I've got my piece of paper and everything following affidavits from the midwife and a doctor, I confirm that the bearer is, in all probability, human. H.Vetinari 5

elsiegee40 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I have a Weatherwax, Ogg and Magrat in mind from the mods, but not sure of the order
GrumbleDook Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Let's see ... one of them is involved in singing and is very musical ... and has a fondness for 'earthy' comments? 1
