Whitley Bridge

 

Planned overnight closures of A444

 

Contractors are planning a series of FULL overnight carriageway closures in both directions on the A444. The roads will be closed to all traffic for 12 consecutive nights, from Friday 20 March - Wednesday 1 April.

 

These closures will be in place from 8.00pm - 6.00am on weekdays and from 8.00pm - 8.00am on weekends.

 

The carriageway will be closed for the delivery and installation of the concrete support beams for the creation of the new Whitley Bridge.

 

Diversions will be in place via London Road and the A45 Stonebridge Highway and will be fully signposted at all times. Please allow extra time for your journey during these periods.

 

Following this, contractors will also need to close Leaf Lane from the junction at Black Prince Avenue to the junction of the exit at Whitley Business Park. This closure begins on April 17 and will remain in place until early/mid-July. The closure is necessary to facilitate the raising and realignment of Leaf Lane to tie in with the road from the new Whitley Bridge.
