penfold Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I've posted a few different threads about spiceworks recently, but they have been different enough for their own thread. I've just noticed the Checklist tab on the job page and thought that it was a good feature to make sure basic checks are being done and a good way to make sure troubleshooting is carried out easily. I've started creating a check list for no network drives with tickboxes for Is there a network connection Can the user get network drives on different computer etc I know it is a bit basic, but the idea that we have is that when a job gets raised all information required can be obtained on the first contact rather than a generic "computer doesn't work". We are also trying the idea of CC other techs into the job so that when the job is passed on, the original person will get notifications of what was carried out so they can see how the problem was resolved in the hope that they will then be able to do that in the future. So I was wondering how others use it and if they had any existing check lists which would be useful to add to categories?
hallb15 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 That sounds like a great idea, but I'm sorry I don't have any ready made checklists. - I use spiceworks but the hardest part I find is getting staff to submit tickets rather than phoning/emailing or coming to see me directly. We use the spiceworks portal as our homepage so its really simple for staff to submit a ticket, but they still don't do it... Now that I have an apprentice, it would really help if all jobs were on spiceworks so I can assign stuff to him and keep an eye on what is/isn't getting done.
