jmak Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Our LA is replacing the remote access system to access services hosted by them on Windows Servers (including email and SIMS - yay!). This has previously been through an MS Forefront gateway and limited to Windows Clients running supported versions of Internet Explorer. They're replacing it with a Dell Sonicwall SRA, which will allow any device and any browser. I have been testing the pilot with them and mostly it's great, but on some of our Windows Clients Chrome doesn't work - you can log in, but there's no keyboard response. I've spent a few hours on line with the Dell support team and what they see is that the SRA is incorrectly identifying the browser as a mobile version. It correctly identifies the machine as Windows with the relevant version. The only other symptom I see is that the client is supposed to download the EPC NetExtender add in, which the Sonicwall SRA uses as part of the endpoint control function. This installs correctly when using IE11 and Firefox, but the SRA doesn't see it as installed in Chrome - after installing it manually, I can look in the Chrome settings and see that it is installed and active. Chrome is updated and I have tried re-installing Chrome - version is Version 41.0.2272.76 m on both the machines that work and the ones that don't. Machine that works is 32bit domain machine and my personal home machine which is 64bit also work correctly. Machines that don't are Win 7 Pro 64bit with Sophos Safeguard encryption and Win 8.1 Pro (not encrypted) domain machines. Any suggestions as to what I need to change? Thanks as always
tom_newton Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Try forcing chrome's user-agent to look like thew 32bit version? 1
