Hi all,

I'm trying to map a windows share using SMB (via profile manager) on student login for our macs (running 10.10) and also an AFP share for a drive that resides on our mac server. Upon student login to the client machines, the username/password prompt appears for every drive mapping ive specified. Is there anything I can do to auto authenticate to the drives using the current students login? Vaguely remember something along the lines of adding '/user%' to the end of the drive mapping, but unsure if this is correct or not. They login with AD credentials to the clients.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

if your AD is set up a certain way, you can go to the local admin account on the client mac and go to system preferences/users/login/ then "edit" on network account servers and open directory utility. Then go to your AD bind, and tick the use UNC box. DONT click force local home though or this will confuse things.

does that help? oh and the code for username is %short_name%
