We have just moved over to the darker version of eclipse.net (V14.11.24.1457) - we were on the white and blue version - and we have been having problems with identikit. The problem is if the librarian sits with eclipse.net open all day and pops in and out of circulate during the day, circulate wont detect fingerprints, however if they sit with circulate open as a tab it will work all day. The trouble is, its habbit to close the tab when finished with it. Ive done a few tests with the software and found that its the plugin/IE addon that isn't working correctly.

So, the librarian sits with eclipse.net open in their browser. They click on circulate and a new tab opens for circulate and at this point identikit works. They close circulate's tab and continue to work in eclipse.net. Then the librarian will click on circulate again, a new tab will display but this time identikit will fail and will not be able to use the fingerprint reader, so the user has to log off and back on.

Closing IE and firing back up doesn't fix the problem. Also, if identikit doesn't work, after 3 times of looking someone up it will crash circulate.

Ive tried disabling and enabling the MLS ScriptEngine but this doesn't make any difference.

I was wondering if anyone else out there is having the same problem. The only way ive managed get it to work is to open circulate in a new window rather than a new tab.

-- edit - I might have spoke too soon. I have just tried opening circulate in a new window rather than a new tab, after closing the window a couple of times I found this failed too but if they keep this window minimised and they click on circulate from the main screen in eclipse.net, circulate will open.

So I guess the tip here is not to close circulate once it is open.
