halbaradkenafin Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I plan on getting a N3DSXL asap for that very reason! I didn't know there was a new one coming out. Guess I'll give this a try for a few weeks and see how I like it and possibly upgrade and put this one back on eBay when I'm done with it.

The regular has changeable cover plates, XL doesn't. Both are bigger. And the 3D adapts to where your head is, so you don't have to sit perfectly still for it to work.

Plus the afore-mentioned built-in right thumbstick (thumbstub?), faster wireless connectivity, better battery life, and for some games (Monster Hunter 4 being one of them) better graphics due to the newer hardware.

And Xenoblade Chronicles is New!3DS exclusive because it have a better GPU/CPU.

DMcGuigan Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I got the new 3DS not long after they came out, C-Stick is pretty awkward to use at first, not bad though. Working my way through SMT IV at the minute. Still need to pick up Monster Hunter.

halbaradkenafin Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I've been looking over one of those "Top 25 games on 3DS" lists and watching attached videos, I'm liking the look of Steamworld Dig (for a nice way to kill a few hours here and there) and Fire Emblem: Awakening (story and graphics look pretty good and an interesting combat system since I've never played a Fire Emblem game before).

Just be aware depending on what mode you pick if a character dies thats it no phoenix downs/magic dead is dead in fire emblem. Be warned though while it is really good you will probably want to throw the 3ds at the wall often lol. Theres also a new fire emblem due out next year. Also be aware if you end up wanting to play older games the wii/gamecube fire emblems cost an absolute fortune 2nd hand and arnt yet on virtual console (i hope they will be one day) steamworld tried the demo uninstalled just diddnt like it same with smash really
sted Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Bravely has a demo. Standard 3DS "locked to 30[?] loads" demo. Gives you some stuff in the main game. well tried that got bored. It seems like final fantasy / pokemon where you spend most of the game "wandering the desert" trying to remember wtf your supposed to be doing now/next i just dont have the patience for that any more esp with random battles
