Just seen this on twitter.

 

YouTube is launching an Android app for children | The Verge

Google, so assuming the following:

 

Launches in US only

Takes years to get to UK

Only works on about 3 tablets

Gets abandoned forever because not one person in 50,000 employees can be bothered to look at the broken signup page...

Removed 6 months after it finally is available here due to google ADHD.

I hate to say it but this will be YouTube Edu all over again, setup and then forgotten about and not maintained by Google.

Funny, Im pro google at work but not a fan outside of it. Google everything in school and Youtube education works well for me but yeah, when there is a non US problem (Chromebooks mapping to US layout) then you can forget a fix anytime soon.

That's funny because I'm heavily invested in Google myself but at work most of it doesn't seem to fit / work well for me. Microsoft seem to get it right must of the time. Especially lately.
