[sims] Classes not available in sims

Hi,

 

I have had to make some timetable changes in Nova (The school from half term has gone from 6 to 7 periods in a day). I have exported the timetable cycle to SQL and exported the curriculum and timetable to SQL.

When I go onto sims and forward date my timetable in reports, timetable, I can see my new timetable with my new classes. I can also see pupils timetables if I forward date it too. However I cannot find my classes if I go to Take Register and forward date. Is there a problem here as I cannot see my classes this way, or is it just because I am trying to look into the future?

I think you need to apply the timetable to your new cycle, I have had this before, everything is there but when you go to lesson monitor, it doesn't show and it is usually this.

 

There is a wizard for this located under Tools > Academic Management > Apply timetable

 

This is because when you have a new cycle or a new academic year, SIMS can see the classes and the timetable but it needs to routine run to make sure the cycle and the classes line up with their times in Lesson Monitor, cover and other items

Thank you very much. I thought I had Applied the timetable in Academic Management, however I have just been back into sims and done this and it now works.

 

I can now relax a little bit better before being back to work on Monday.

I have done it before, you have to be careful with 2 cycles in the academic year, as it can be a bit fun with some parts of SIMS, but it is much better than what it was :-)
