Our laptops are built to the network, they operate on our wireless with full access to their user areas while within our walls. At home they used a cached roaming profile to allow them to operate at home and they can reach their home folders indirectly through a web-based portal, or they can use USB devices to shuffle work around and work at home. When a member of staff opens up the webmail and tries to attach a file from a USB device the dialog box takes ages to respond. My assumption is that it is trying and failing to access their home folder as the last place they probably uploaded from, once it gives up and the user is given the chance to acknowledge an error message it then proceed to pause again for a long time, possibly while trying to reach a local folder which is next on its list on the local hard drive to which the staff do not have access, before finally giving up and giving them a chance to select the USB drive. This could be frustrating as a one off provided it remembered that the USB was the last thing used and go straight there next time, but it doesn't, even more annoyingly it repeats this process for each e-Mail for which an attachment is used. This is roughly quadrupling the time it takes to carry out very simple tasks.

Any thoughts on overriding the order in which it offers the locations up in the dialog box, i.e. force it to go to the top level 'Computer' each time, or reducing the time outs so that it gives up faster? Any other suggestions or approaches would be appreciated.
