Jackd Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Ive got a Sony DCR-PC9E connected via firewire (IEEE 1394). It gets detected by windows in the device manager but besides the device theres a little ! in a yellow circle. When i view the items properties it says Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Thanks for your help, Jack Dunn
laserblazer Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Not come across that before. Try deleting the device and then reconnecting the camera. If the fault persists, try the camera on another computer. If it is a PCI firewire card, try it in a different slot.
Jackd Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 Tried all of those nothing (apart from another computer because i aint got another one with a firewire card) seems to make any difference?
Andrew_C Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Other Sony stuff that I've used has had dire warnings that the software/drivers must be installed before connecting the device. You may need to completely uninstall (ie pick the bits out of the registry) and start again.
Jackd Posted December 6, 2007 Author Posted December 6, 2007 Any ideas what stuff to pick out of the registry
