Schools Broadband Increased SPAM

Hi

 

Are any fellow customers of schools broadband seeing an increase in SPAM this week? I think they had an issue with the firewalls on Friday of last week and since then I have been getting SPAM again. SPAM was virtually stopped dead by them back in December for us but now its back

I should add we have a hosted Fortinet firewall with them.

We did have an issue at the start of the year / end of December but we phoned them up at they sorted it out.

 

Are you using a onsite exchange?

Also do you have any Spam lists enabled on your email server, i.e. somthing like this: SBL - IP Spam Filter - The Spamhaus Project

I am using onsite exchange and no I'm not using anything like SBL, I will take a look at it.

 

We only seem to get ones that come from companies that seem to have been compromised. As I say they even stopped these for a month or two but this week they are back.

suggest you give the helpdesk a call and they'll take a look and perhaps up the scoring system of the spam filter on the Fortigate.

I have Dave, I have been talking to them all week about it. I just dont understand how it was stopped dead and now its started again. I was going to try and speak to Scott or one of the other engineers about it.
