Microsoft Office Shortcuts in Visual Basic

Hello,

I'm developing an application in VB and I'm trying to add shortcuts to the office applications on it.

 

I've created a shortcut for them, ie; "C:\Application\Office\excel.lnk" however when using this path for the code it says file not found.

The paths are all correct.

 

When I use the FULL C:\Program Files etc. it works fine.

 

 

The issue is, this will be distributed around the network and not every install will be the same.

Some may have different versions of office, some may be 32bit/64bit.

 

 

Any ideas how to shortcut this?

Can't you do something like:

If IntPtr.Size = 8 Then

'Link for 64 bit

ElseIf IntPtr.Size = 4 Then

'Link for 32 bit

End If
