wpad.dat on ruckus 1100

I have installed a zone director 1100 (9.8.1) with 10 r500 ap's into a school, it is all connected to network and working.

 

on the customers requirements they wish to have guest access set up.

i have correctly done this but when logging into the guest access it does not redirect to the portal to login.

 

it was advised that the school use a proxy server which is external to their network address.

 

i have looked into how i can get aroudn this problem n come up with using a wpad.dat file. i have consulted ruckus support who advised that using the wpad.dat file on the ZD controller will allow the proxy settings to be provided to all guests accessing the guest wlan.

 

i am far from an expert in wpad.dat as i have only read about it over the last day and half.

 

i have cconfigured a notepad and saved it as wpad.dat

 

my problem is i am unsure if this will work as i only need the wpad.dat file to provide the proxy servers address to guests when logging in to the wlan.

 

for example i have used

 

retunr "PROXY 10.0.0.1:8080;"

 

 

can someone advise is this all that i would need to accomplish my goal.
