Harry1980 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi Everyone, I thought I would ask for some advice from people that have used or managed either Ruckus or Xirrus wireless networks. I am looking to upgrade the school wireless network. Currently we are using cisco standalone wireless AP's which are about 10 years old. Both suppliers are saying that theirs is the best. I would like opinions from neutral people that have used it. We are a primary school of about 450 pupils are use laptops and ipads at school. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Trebs Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Hi there, I've got experience with Ruckus, Aruba and Meru all in primary school environments. Ruckus is cheap, performs great and ridiculously easy to configure and manage. In the past we have used other brands for managed wireless where clients were experiencing slow logons, dropping off the network frequently and slow speeds so we swapped them out for Ruckus and have had great feedback and noticed a drastic improvement in performance and rarely get issues. The link below explains a little about the technology they use you might find it handy I think this separates them from competition at the moment. BeamFlex | Ruckus Wireless, Inc.
Harry1980 Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Thanks. I have made my mind up and will be going with Ruckus.
