northeast_technician Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Hello, I have noticed xibo are about to release a new version which looks pretty cool. What I was wondering is, I have Xibo running in school and really like it, but is it possible to upgrade an existing version or do I have to re-install it as a new install then copy everything over? Many thanks
clarky2k3 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Hi, We upgraded to 1.7.0 alpha2 and you can upgrade. We took a backup of the files, xibodata and sql before hand though, just incase! You will need to upgrade the clients on the displays aswell. We upgrade to 1.7.0 beta but found our screens didnt work so reverted back to 1.7.0 alpha.
synaesthesia Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Ubuntu clients currently not supported though. Release candidate is available currently, I'm just about to have a play with it.
northeast_technician Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 so on windows is it just a case of copy and replace whats already there? couldnt find any documentation on this
clarky2k3 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Yes, you just overwrite the server files/folders.
clarky2k3 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I have to say 1.7.0 rc1 is brilliant! I have decided to start from scratch again though!
northeast_technician Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 copied everything across but still uses old version, where have i gone wrong?
