Poults Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 This product has come to its end of life, Symantec didn't even warn RM! We haven't received any updates since 05/01/15 so looks like an emergency upgrade for us this weekend. 1
synaesthesia Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I recall this being publicised a while ago; although all the sources on my CC4 school still says RMVP5.1 it's a 2013 version of Symantec Endpoint Manager (12.1) and all clients updated, that was upgraded by a walkthrough on RM Support's site at some point early last year I think. (I believe that makes it 6.1)
Hawkeyez Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Just done ours to 6.1...... but then spotted we had a download for 6.2. Log into rm.com, and go to My Account. In there is a link for "Product Downloads" where any software you are entitled to are available. There's a upgrade and a fresh install route.
Dkeen94 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Thanks for the heads up! I was waiting until Feb HT to complete this but it looks like it will now be a urgent update!
Poults Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 We had RM investigating yesterday, we are using SEPM version 11 and they weren't aware it was EOL. I did see on the symantec site that it had already been extended to Jan 5th after some ivestigation. Just a heads up for anyone that wasn't aware or had missed it.
TomHD Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I too suffered from this, installed RMVP 6.2 last night. Still not got the clients out to managed machines as the package import ins't showing in RMMC
Danp Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 RMVP6 was released about a year or more ago, they were pushing it then. Issue I have at the moment was in the process of upgrading to 12.1.5337.5000 I have broken SEPM completely!
Hawkeyez Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 For 6.1 I ended up doing a fresh install. The Database on RMVP5 wouldn't backup internally within RMVP. Then the upgrade process would fail at converting the database. RMVP 6.1 to 6.2 was fine. The only issue we have, is machines have been taking ages to appear as managed clients, even though package is installed, and have latest definitions. A rebuild solves that. A number have appeared eventually, but still have about 30% that are running on client, but not listed on SEPM.
TomHD Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 @Hawkeyez, Can you not push the communcation settings out via SEPM? 1
Hawkeyez Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 @Hawkeyez, Can you not push the communication settings out via SEPM? Cheers, didnt realise could do that. Just pushed out to a few devices, and they now appear.
