Compressing pdf files?

Hi All

 

I try to keep pdf files that we send by email to parents as small as possible - I have found that most users access emails on their phones, so it makes it quicker and cheaper for them. We don't have Adobe professional, so no inbuilt facility. I have tried Smallpdf.com - A Free Solution to all your PDF Problems and it works really well and also works as an add-in to Chrome. It also does conversion jpg to pdf, pdf to jpg and splits or merges pdfs. My only concern is that it seems to be to good to be true. Bearing in mind that it's for public consumption anyway, to privacy issues are minimal, has anyone come across any concerns with this service?

We host the files on our webspace and then email them the link to it. Certainly easier.
