Happy New Year all!

We've moved to Solus 3 and was wondering if the repository folder should be 14.4GB's. Considering the actual SIMS and FMS installers combined are only 250-350MBish, I feel it's rather excessive.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Have you downloaded every update that has ever been released? Mine is 782MB at the moment.

Would have a look at whats actually been downloaded!

My repository is 16GB, with 10GB in the DoNotDeleteThisFolder - it's got all the releases downloaded from 2011 onwards when we first configured it.

Blimey, okay so do we really need everything prior the newest install files? Considering we only installed Solus on 23rd Dec, it's massive! I'll give Capita a call to see if they can shed some light into this matter.

It was installed by a Capita engineer. I've ticked the box "Show all updates" and it's listing everything back to 2011.

Well in it's first incarnation Solus3 worked forward from the Spring 2011 upgrade as it's base mark and then proceeded to check each one as it went through the deployment (I remember Summer checking Spring first before doing the Summer and the same for Autumn again starting with Spring) and shortly after that it changed so that the check would no longer take place, providing Solus3 had seen that the previous dependancy had been deployed it would work from that point (or whatever it's last successful dependancy was in the chain).

I guess it's still a part of Solus 3 for that reason, however as an annual Spring ISO is released, you would expect Solus 3 to be able to roll up to a Spring Full release and purge it's repository.

Having said that, Solus 3.8 is the best release so far for pushing updates out (even if it still has it's issues)
