JRowley Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Java... And bad optimisation, and buggy code. Minecraft is awful in that sense.
X-13 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I spend ££££ once every 3-5 years. £4? Not much of an upgrade. If it were up to me, i'd say, give me £2000 (for GAMING only), and i'll throw a tri / quad sli 980 or a single titan z with a nice i7. That'd keep anyone happy for a good.... a good..... 5+ years. Unless more games are optimised like AC:Unity... I think it's actually impossible to get that running at 60FPS with everything maxed.
LosOjos Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Unless more games are optimised like AC:Unity... I think it's actually impossible to get that running at 60FPS with everything maxed. I picked up AC:U last week (£22 in Tesco on PS4!) and one thing is driving me insane - why the hell can't you move around corners when under cover? Like if you're using a table as cover, you can't move around it, only along it - 'TF is that all about? I ranted at length about this last night to the missus (she's become a fan of AC games since she played Black Flag), to which she replied "don't play it then." Clearly missing the point that I'm going to play it and moan constantly about it
X-13 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Clearly missing the point that I'm going to play it and moan constantly about it You've also gotta proclaim that you're not buying any more... while preordering the next one. [Victorian London! Woo!]
Joanne Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I've got Black Flag... felt very sick after running around for an hour doing assassinny things... blech.
X-13 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 doing assassinny things Getting black out drunk, starting fights in the ocean and looking for treasure?
tmcd35 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 You've also gotta proclaim that you're not buying any more... while preordering the next one. [Victorian London! Woo!] I'm going to have to see if I can use my 28days holiday in once continuous block next Chrimbo. Time it right around some bank holidays, add in weekends, and I might just have time to 100% it and get bored of playing out my Jack the Ripper fantasies...
DMcGuigan Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Getting black out drunk, starting fights in the ocean and looking for treasure? You forgot the shanties.. how could you forget the shanties?!

X-13 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Sooooooooo..... Yeah. And yet... I still have a better framerate in Red Dead Redemption on 360 than you do on PC. And hows Mario Kart 8 running for the PC master race? 1

Arreks Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Red Dead Redemption on 360 Urge to play.. rising..
LosOjos Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Not this "PC Master Race" carp again... PC advantages: very cheap games in the sales, *almost* complete "backwards compatibility" (i.e. doesn't usually matter how old a game is, there'll be a way to play it) Console advantages: no messing with settings or drivers, *almost* plug and play I purposely left hardware upgrades out of the equation, as often upgrading a PC any significant amount costs as much as a console anyway so makes that argument defunct IMO I have a decent gaming PC, but now using PS4 for AAA titles until comparable GPUs enter the sub £200 price point, then I'll upgrade (unless a next gen console is out first...). Have both and quit arguing
X-13 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Pfft. Don't touch me you filthy casual. What was that? abillybob Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 You are aware that apart from the OS, modern consoles and PCs are almost identical, aren't you? Just checking. Knowledge bomb dropped* No, because she's not an IT pro so I'd expect her to understand "computer" in the colloquial sense, however I'd expect an IT pro to understand that the microwave does contain a computer. Which can only mean - are you my missus?
