Office 365 Distribution List Permissions

I'm just trying to get to grips with Office 365 and I'm just wondering...

 

 

Is this usually a button you can switch on and off and is it down to permissions why it's greyed out? I know my user is a user admin and an administrator of the group. I did look up the power shell equivalent but it doesn't seem to be a correct parameter any more. Any ideas?

Not sure I'm going to be much help, but...

 

I've just checked ours here and don't have the issue of it being greyed out like yours. I don't recall having to do anything special to use this though, although we have had ours set up for a while now.

 

The same option can be found under the Exchange Admin Center, do you get the same result?

It should indeed be changeable, have you tried logging in as global admin and seeing if it is still greyed out?

And if you use DirSync for your groups - you can set this in your local AD - and it will sync the change. The setting is accessible via Attribute Editor, called "msExchRequireAuthToSendTo"

Thanks for all the replies. We do not currently use Dirsync as its just been setup by our RBC and I doubt I will be able to either as we have only been given user roles for user management and not global admin which is probably the issue as suspected but I just wanted to make sure.
