I aim to make 10K profit on each jump so building it up nicely so I can go and do some hunting with it. Did do a mission that required to carry 10T of Gold, cost me CR90K to purchase but got a payout of CR160K which helped boost my balance. Somebody tried jumping me in Super Cruise while carrying it but manage to evade it as it would have wiped me out if I got blown apart with that on board!!! Just don't get enough time to play it as I would like really. Pete 1
Sunnyknight Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 See I also need more cargo holds, I think I have 8 or maybe 12 in my Viper currently. Park the viper for now, and buy a cobra. You'll make the money back in 1 trip with rare goods.

Then fsd back into super cruise. 1

Always had a good PC for work stuff at home, started playing elite last week. Because of how much i enjoyed it i upgraded my graphics card r9 290 blah blah blah ... anyway back to Elite! I am just doing missions, the bit this game needs to be added is the play with your mates online, because flying in space can be a lonely existence. Also YOU MUST buy Voice packs! p.s. do not buy slaves and then try selling them via the mission that comes up! you will get robbed, hilarious watching my mate nearly cry when he lost all his money! pcstru Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I just find trading so hit and miss... but clearly you have to make a decent distance jump to make it work properly. You do for rares. They have a profit profile based on distance, so the Lave/Zeessze run (there's a sort of cluster of rares supply around each end of that) should net you 15K Cr/tonne minimum. I have found some systems where you can trade between stations and make around 1200Cr/Tonne per round trip, which can be a quick way to earn if the stations are reasonably close. For ordinary trading, you do need to grab as much cargo as you can, which means running a few risks (no sheilds!) in a ship with the largest holds you can afford and afford to fill. If you are really struggling with trading, it's worth a peek at slopey's BPC tool, even if you don't use it in anger, it can help you get a feel for what works and what doesn't (be wary of bad data!). Another thing I'm finding useful is Power Grid - more custom programmed buttons never seem to go amis.

Sunnyknight Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 Given up on rare trading now. Have 6.6mil in the bank and i'm looking to pimp out my viper to the max. A heads up........ People are kitting out offensive cobras and vipers to use as pirate vessels to steal rare goods. I got interdicted about 4 times for my 50ton within 10 seconds each. Same person, but they're thirsty! After i escaped the last one, i logged out for 3 mins to cool my nerves and hope he vanished. He did. Flew to my station only to see him pop up behind. Never been so shocked.... Quick switched to my viper which had multi cannons and lasers on it and killed him in super cruise and interdicting. He apologized. Went back to my station, repaired my viper, logged out. Brilliant few hours.
