Could anyone offer advice on deleting future detentions?

I have recently joined the school and SLT have amended the behaviour management system which has resulted in changes to dates and detention types.

I have gone in via tools, setup, behaviour management... unticked the active box against a 'no longer required' detention but when I then go in to test this against a student the future dates still appear and can be selected.

This will cause all sorts of mayhem....

Thanks in anticipation of a solution.

Making it inactive will stop it being used again, but might actually screw up any future ones that are already set up.

Try going into Focus | Behaviour Management | Maintain Detentions and edit any future ones and change to the correct type, or delete altogether if you need to. This should stop them from being usable.

by the way :welcome: to EduGeek.

Thanks for this. Could you let me know how to edit/delete them.

I right click on the future dates and it does not allow me to do anything but sort them. I thought I may get a delete button ??

Thank you for my welcome... This could be the answer to lots of my problems :)

You can delete them from the browse detentions screen.

I've just done this for everything after January at my school as it's been decided that the modifications that were made are not working (rightly so).

I couldn't find a way to bulk delete, so did it manually - which was great fun considering we have 2-4 detention types per day, every day.

Many thanks all.

It appears I had done this but until everyone logged out of SIMs last night my changes did not appear when selecting a detention against a child.

All is now well and I can breathe a sigh of relief...

Merry Christmas.
