Hi,

When printing from Publisher 2013 in an RDS session (both full and via RemoteApp), the user receives the following error:

"The file %s cannot be opened. Access privileges have not been given."

In the Event Viewer, "Application and Service Logs"\"Microsoft Office Alerts" - it displays the error description with the code: 0x80070005.

Searching Google, forums suggested it was an activation issue for some reason. Removing the keys and re-installing (both a MAK and VLK) - Office activates OK but Publisher still doesn't print.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul.

We had a very similar error with Dynamics CRM 2013 and printing. Ours turned out to be a token bloat issue and max header size.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters - MaxTokenSize 0xFFFF (65535)

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HTTP\Parameters - MaxFieldLength 0xFFFE (65534)

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HTTP\Parameters - MaxRequestBytes 0x400000 (4194304)

Neither really seemed to correspond to the error, but strangely resolved the issue (for us anyway)

Should I add the values you have mentioned as non of the three are present?

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi Firefox, do you have any feedback?

I just can't seem to fathom it out.

Cheers.

Sorry, seems I never got the message you replied to the previous message.

Yes....if those keys\values don't exist......then create them. Plus obviously try this on a test machine first, as this resolved our problem and it's entirely possible it won't resolve yours.

That being said, none of those settings will cause you any harm, so create, test and delete if it doesn't help :-)

Not to worry.

I've put the values in, so will wait until the test server restarts this eve and update you tomorrow.

Cheers for the help.
