Smart Board 580 USB to Serial Question

Does anyone know if the Smart USB Adapter used on the 580 is interchangeable with a generic USB to Serial adapter? Or does anyone know where I can still get a Smart Board 580 USB to Serial Adapter with the drivers?

I've recently purchased some myself off eBay , £10 for 5m serial to usb. Hope that helps

yes but iirc you also need a ps2 port for power so you may also need usb to ps2 adapter and its ends up being messy and a bit prone to not working if they arnt plugged in in the right order
