JOB TITLE: ICT Technician GRADE / SALARY: Scp 12-17 £15,189-£16,998 pa (pro rata £9,782-£10,947) pay award pending LOCATION: Beck Primary School Beck Road Sheffield S5 0GG Tel 0114 246 7536 and Hucklow Primary School Hucklow Road Sheffield S5 6TB Tel 0114 242 6736 HOURS: 26.5 hours, Mon-Fri (41 weeks per year) pro-rata Required as soon as possible, the Governors are seeking to appoint a highly organised, motivated and efficient ICT technician to join our friendly and hardworking team. The primary role of the technician will be supporting teachers and other staff by maintaining ICT equipment in full working order. Working under the direction of the Network Manager, the technician role will provide support at both Beck and Hucklow Primary Schools and duties will include: • Resolving ICT difficulties in classrooms and offices; • Installation of hardware/software under the guidance of the Network Manager; • Ensuring all ICT equipment is maintained and fit for purpose; • Management of ICT assets; • Supporting the Network Manager; • Making suggestions for ICT improvements, in liaison with other staff; • Using and maintaining the electronic ICT helpdesk, ensuring all ICT queries are logged from inception to resolution; • Providing curriculum support to classroom staff by working with groups of pupils if required. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to both work and workload and have excellent problem solving skills. A full clean driving licence would be advantageous as would experience of providing ICT support in a school or similar setting. As the role involves working across two sites, the ability to move quickly and at short notice between schools is essential.
