Hi,

Just looking for a bit of information on which printers are being used successfully in smallish 3 form entry schools. We currently have a MFP/copier for "best quality" print jobs and 2 aging Brother HL4040 for printing in an IT suite and a staffroom. The classrooms print to the closest printer usually.

We are not a massive school and I really need to do some stats on the printers use as I currently don't have anything running, but we are clearing probably 6K pages each printer per month purely based on the amount of toners being used. Not that much really I know but I'd like to reduce the the spend on consumables vs print quality ratio that I currently have.

The Brother HL4040 has imaging drum and transfer belt that has to be changed as part of the consumable life cycle but do all modern lasers have these consumables or do they work in a different way? I've noticed newer HP lasers only have toner and a waste toner collection bottle that are really consumable.

Anyway, basic needs are 1. reasonable print quality as our Brother printers are shot to bits in this regard and 2. competitively priced replacement toners, we currently use compatibles.

I know I'm going to get many suggestions here but your thoughts are welcomed please.
