Hi Guys,

I had smoothwall installed last week and there's a problem with HTTPS traffic on android devices. Smoothwall has been configured as a transparent proxy for mobile devices.

Apple devices work fine, Windows devices need a certificate installed and Android doesn't display HTTPS websites. The following error is displayed in the android internet browser:

"The sites security certificate is not trusted" and the page fails to load.

How do I get around this please? Also is there an easier way to deploy the certificate to personally owned windows devices?

Best off posting on the smoothwall direct support forum, but there is nothing wrong with your config. You can install a public cert for the captive portal page but sadly if a user still tries to browse to a https site initially the https intercept cert still presents an issue on android / chrome unless you manually install the certificate beforehand which is a pain with BYOD.
