[sims] applying patches guide

its been a while since i have had to apply a patch without using SOLUS, so i thought i would look up the documentation for doing so, SupportNet is being its usual self and requiring a sacrifice to actually provide the documentation, does anyone have a link to it or a copy then could send me.

Actually it's pretty innocuous so safe to post.

You just might need to adjust for 64bit.
