Hi All,

I am hoping that someone is going to give me a eureka moment and provide an answer straight away. I however spent the best part of yesterday trying to get this worked out.

Basically a few server we want to have scheduled restarts on, i have that already nicely set-up in task scheduler however it refuses to send an email out as a trigger when the system shuts down and starts back up again. After doing to reading i have found that this is a known issue with task scheduled. That aside i figured as they are all virtual machines i would just get VSphere to trigger an alarm on reboot / power off / power on (tried more aswell) and send me an email. Again this doesn't work the only time i can get it to work is if i right click on the actual VM and select reboot then it registers it as an alarm and sends an email IF however i go into the console of said VM and click start - restart VSphere doesn't seem to register it as a reboot and so doesn't trigger an alarm and doesn't trigger an email

All very frustrating and hoping anyone reading this can make sense of my objective from the above babble

Many thanks in advance for any help
